I only use the icemaker if I'm having guests over and need more ice than my refrigerator icemaker produces. It's slow to start making ice, but once it gets started everything works fine. Unfortunately, each time I've used it I find water puddles under the unit.

I just had knee surgery that required bags and bags of ice to keep my knee iced. I poured out gallons of water - this way, I'm thinking I can refreeze the melted water and keep the fresh ice coming. A trial run seemed to work, but the real test will be when I have the next surgery.

The small cubes are cute and just the right size. Perhaps after I can walk again, I'll use it for its intended purpose, although my refrigerator provides plenty of ice for drinks.

I use this at my weekend home where my freezer is stuffed and there is no room for ice trays. Machine works fast but when making ice the cubes sit in a bit of water before they are emptied in to the bin. Once there they sit. Since machine is not a freezer, things may start to melt but as time goes on the bin gets full with ice and it stays cold. Still it's good to cool your drinks and if you transfer the ice to a bucket or better to a freezer in bags, it's perfect.

Easy to use, easy to clean and drain. I liked it enough to buy another one for my home. Can't beat the price.

This is a good option for the single person. Not good if expecting to use it for a party. I use it at irregular times, so about 20 min. before I expect to have a meal or go sit outside to relax I turn it on and..VOILA! enough ice cubes for about 3 large glasses. The ice cubes stay frozen for hours. For me, this is great! I especially like to use it out on my deck or by the hot tub.

I must disagree with the previous reviewer's comments. Unscrewing a cap at the end of the day to drain any excess water, is hardly an inconvenience. Overall, this is a stylish ice maker that delivers a cumulative amount of cubes within 30+ minutes. I simply wish that each individual batch was a little more generous on its own.

Noisy and inconvenient
By TLCVerified Purchaser from Tampa, FL on 5/28/2008
Cons:
Cubes Too Small, Must be drained daily, Noisy
Best Uses:
Bar, Dorm
Describe Yourself:
Avid Cook
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We bought this product for our bar. It appeared to be stylish and the right size for our space. However, according to the product manual the unit should be drained daily, which of course is inconvenient for everyday use. Even the largest size cubes are extrememly small and hollow, and melt quickly in any beverage. To top it all off, the unit is very noisy. We are returning it.

Easier to buy ice than use this

Cons:
Cubes are tiny, Loud, Too Small

Wanted it for a party but decided that buying ice made more sense
