I have been using label savers for several years. I found that not all labels are the same: some are easy to remove and others not easy. It depends upon the label, not the saver.
These label removers work great for paper labels and removes them almost immediately. Labels with any silver or gold require more time or a different/ stronger label. I have used these for 5 years and love them!!!
We bought a couple of packs on clearance at Dillards. I was skeptical at first. However, the product works great. Every label came off, sometimes just the printing, sometimes everything. The key is to simply use a smooth object to get out all the air bubbles, as mentioned in the instructions. I've come to this web site to buy ten more packs.
I followed the directions with disappointing results. Four labels lifted completely (not just the print) but only with help from a razor blade. Unfortunately, I didn't refer to the website reviews BEFORE I had my own sad experience or I would have tried some of those suggestions after my first label was ruined. Why do reviewers "recommend this product to a friend" when they themselves respond that it is inferior?
The label savers work pretty well, but only when the label has been soaked in water first for at least 10 minutes.
My girlfriend and I enjoy wine and frequently have nice wines at home. The label savers are a great way to remember our favorites. We're putting together a scrapbook with the labels and including when/why we had the wine (birthday, anniversary, etc.), our tasting notes, etc. Plus, it's nice to look back at some of the truly artistic labels.
We remove the labels and frame them
Sorry, forgot to add: use a smooth object to rub over entire label. Make sure you go over all of it to help peel label off. Yes, it only takes the top part not the backing of the label. Occationally part of the label will not come off. BUT, more times then not the entire label will come off.
The label savers do work on labels but they are a bit harder to use than advertised. You really have to make sure the item is very firmly placed on the wine bottle. In order to peel the label off the bottle without it tearing I have to take the wine bottle with the label saver on it and run it back and forth over the edge of by table. Then it seems to work very well.
The instructions should say to leave on for at least 1 hour or more before trying to remove label. I found this helpful from another type of label off that I had.
Tried the product on several wine bottles. In no case did the product work as described. In some cases the label peeled but left some of the label attached. In other cases the label didn't peel at all. Would not recommend or purchase this product in the future.
This only worked on 1 of 4 labels so far. It has completely tore up some of my favorite labels. I've followed the instructions very carefully. It just doesn't work with the most common glossy labels. I got this as a present, so it's pretty much garbage.
Works great for almost all labels! Takes some experimentation to learn what types of labels remove best, but overall an excellent product.
this is by far the best way to keep a memory of a wine. I even keep one in my purse when we dine out!!
I have a journal of labels from many memorable bottles of wine. No, it doesn't work perfectly on every label--blame the vintners, not the product--but it works pretty well on most and perfectly on many. If you're a perfectionist, pass it up and throw away your labels. Otherwise, start collecting and remember the bottles/times you want to.
This product is easy to use and works very well on most labels; the only disappointment was its inability to pull up labels with foil artwork/borders or labels with an exceptionally smooth-finished surface (sometimes plastic ones).
I did not find anything good about this product. The label saver actually removes the very top thin layer of a label. The seal/contact between label remover and label must be perfect or you will get "holes" in you labels. Also the label saver was too small for some of the wine labels I tried.
In most occassions, the saver tears apart the precious labels I want to save.
I thought it's a good invention, but it turned out a big disappointment. I bought 10 packs, and really hope to be refunded.
we tried to remove a few labels from wine bottles and could not remove the entire label without tearing it.
Perhaps we are doing something wrong.
I was very disappointed, because we really wanted this product to work so we could save the labels of some of our favorite wines
I kept miss the opportunity to keep the favorate wine nake in my record. This product can be carried for unexpected opprtunity.
We visit small local wineries wherever we travel as well as those local to us. I'm scrapbooking all of the wineries we visit (about 70 so far) and keep the labels off the bottles to include in the book. These label savers are the best way we've found to do that.
