For an inexpensive decanter this does the job nicely. Its wide base is perfect for the .75 bottles. It tends to fog up after cleaning. I have to take my drying brush to it several times before it completely dries. It is also a little difficult to handle. My last decanter had a concave base which made it a little easier for pouring but it was also thin glass and broke easily. This one is much sturdier. I would definitely recommend the cleaning tools and a funnel for aeration.

Great product - especially for decanting wines that need a little extra contact with air to open and eliminate tannins. Highly recommended and attractive!

Purchased this as a gift for my father. Was worried that it might be very thin since I was buying it sight unseen and it was relatively inexpensive, but it was nice and substantial. [...] My dad was pleased with it, it was exactly what he was looking for. Overall good experience.

There are more expensive decanters out there but this one is just as appealing to the eye without the bigger price tag. It is hard to keep from dripping when finishing a pour but that is because of the shape of the opening. I'm guessing you would have the same trouble with the more expensive brands. I would recommend as a great bargain that looks like you spent a lot of money. Decants beautifully as it should.

Great looking

Bought this as a gift...she used it the very same day she opened it and loves it. Looks great and the stopper works to create a great place to keep "leftover" wine. None of the great looking decanters are easy to clean, but that shouldn't deter you from purchasing this. There are several items out there to make cleaning this easier.

This decanter is dangerous

"Dangerous" only in the best way. This was my first decanter, and each bottle of wine we decanted in it was exceptional. If you don't decant, you should. My only criticism is that, being new to decanting, I could have used a little primer that perhaps the manufacturer could have provided. Pas grave [...]

Very Nice
By Zamboni552eVerified Purchaser from Hayward, CA on 11/26/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Fairly sturdy, Holds a lot of liquid
Cons:
Awkward, Difficult to Clean
Best Uses:
Domestic, Informal
Describe Yourself:
Bargain Hunter, Stylish
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The one drawback that isn't too hard to overcome, is that the last pours require you to completely invert the decanter. It is a little awkward. I would HIGHLY recommend both a decanter brush and drying object to be purchased with this item.

Good stuff for good price

Attractive Design, Comfortable to Hold, Dishwasher Safe
Cons:
Difficult to Clean
Best Uses:

I was looking for a decanter that was pretty, as welll as functional, but also within my price range. I have spent alot previously on others that were either too thin and cracked, or did not decant the wine properly. I love this decanter.
