Do not buy any storage unit that uses this cooling unit. It will only last for a year or two. I have to get a new one, but I'll be looking for a better storage unit.[...]

unit has a life expectancy of about 1-2y

I too have had the same experience with this unit as previous posters. Unit works fine for about a year or maybe two then just stops working. I got a replacement for the first one only because I had extended 2 year warranty, Now my second one is crapping out after less than a year and no warranty coverage on this one.

Disappointed
By DaleVerified Reviewer from Rancho Mirage, CA on 10/29/2007
Cons:
Low Quality
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

While the Tuscany 220 unit seemed like a good value 2 years ago, and the cabinetry is indeed nice, the cooling unit failed within those 2 years and with no apparent means to repair it. Regardless of warranty coverage (always minimal), a cooling unit should last more than 2 years. I am now left with no alternative but to buy a replacement cooling unit and go to the expense and laborious process of removing the wine, removing the cooling unit, replacing the cooling unit, disposing of the old one, and replacing the wine. Very disappointing to now know that I will probably have to repeat this expensive process every year or two.

I have had three and they have all quit after the warranty has run out but I must keep replacing it because it is the only one that will fit.
