I have bought cheaper pepper & salt mills in the past and been disappointed. These not only work great but look good also. I was a little reluctant because of the price but I am glad I purchased because they are worth it. I would reccommend highly if you want mills that do the job.

We ordered these mills personalized for friends. They are beautiful--just how they are displayed in the catalog. However, the salt and pepper mills are identical. They actually come with a paper tag around the salt neck to distinguish which is which. It would have been very easy to place a "S" and "P" on the mills when they were personalized. We may still do that on our own.

When you buy the set of salt and pepper, the woods are the same color and make it hard to tell which is which unless you look at the grinder on the bottom. I wish when you buy the set that the pepper mill were a darker wood to distinguish from the salt.

The ad displayed the salt mill in blonde wood and the pepper mill in dark wood. Unfortunately, the set I received was done in the same blonde finish for both mills, making them very difficult to tell apart. Only a tiny "S" and a tiny "P" on the top of each grinder identifies the contents.
I bought this set as a wedding present & was disappointed. Instead of a pair of mills that looked like the groom in black and the bride in white, the set resembled 2 brides.

Presented as a gift, quite large and a bit heavy, may be a bit much for everyday use ... but perfect when entertaining! The negative is that the Salt and Pepper are barely identified, would be easy to mix-up (just a tiny S or P on the very top)

I would have loved to be able to put the complete wedding date (which ours have), instead of just the year, however they still loved them....
