The cork comes out of the bottle easily, but the cork rarely comes out of the Rabbit easily. I often have to manually unscrew it form the worm, which defeats the purpose of the whole thing by making it extremely HARD to uncork a bottle, not extremely easy. How do I get the Rabbit to release the cork easily?

BEST ANSWER: For me I learned that the best fool proof method is to make sure the lever is all the way back before squeezing the horizontal levers around the bottle top, then thrusting the screw all the way into the cork as far as it will go hearing a small click, then pulling the cork all the way out WITHOUT STOPPING, then pushing the lever all the way back down again(another click) when the mechanism is free from the bottle pulling the lever all the way back up again will free the cork from the corkscrew. My initial problem was not pulling the cork with one long steady pull, any stopping midway would reset the mechanism causing the corkscrew to unscrew from the cork resulting in a lot of frustration. Using the method described I have had no further problems and it's now a very fast and efficient way to uncork a wine bottle.
The cork no longer comes out. The spiral just unscrews itself.
What are we doing wrong?

BEST ANSWER: You have not held the gripping handles firmly enough around the bottle neck.
Hi...Is this made with metal or plastic? The wine openers I can find in my area are made mostly with some sort of plastic and feel very flimsy. My dad had one that looked similar to this one and it was much heavier and felt much sturdier. Hopefully it was this model. thanks

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. The outside is made of a hard plastic and the inside is composed of metal gears. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at 800 356 8466. Thank you again.
Is this the wine opener that was featured in one of the episodes of AMC network's series 'Breaking Bad'? It was seen in Season 4 episode called 'Shotgun'.

Thank you.

lasted 7 years, buying another
I have owned one of these for seven years, and the rubber pads that hold the bottle neck finally disintegrated after regular use several times a week over that timespan. I like it well enough that I am buying another--quick, easy, convenient, and lasted long enough to be a great value.

Does not work
This product extracts the cork from the bottle about half of the time. It fails for both natural and synthetic corks. Even when it works to extract the cork, it does not automatically remove the cork from the screw. That has to be done by hand. Worst cork screw I have ever used in 40+ years of opening wine bottles.

Rabbit Corkscrew
For relatively young wines, with fresh corks, this corkscrew is very to use, doesn't require any wrist turning, and is quick. However, for more mature wines, which describes most of the wines in my wine cellar, the corkscrew will not release a stuck cork and ends up breaking it, without extracting it.

It works with natural and synthetic cork
Best cork puller I have used. Works with both natural and newer synthetic corks. However synthetics are a bit more difficult. Very pleased.

Love It!
This is the 4th "Rabbit" style wine opener that I have owned and it is the best! It removes the cork with very little effort and it is easy to remove the cork from the opener.

A very handy tool
Once you get the hang of using this thing it becomes very quick and easy. Hands down this is absolutely the best way to open a wine bottle.
