The corkscrew works well, except the foam grip for holding the bottle has worn. Do you have replacement foam strips to place inside the head in order to hold the bottle top, or do I need to come up with my own solution?

Is the base heavy enough that it doesn't move around while trying to get the cork out? Is there no need to mount the base to the counter?
Carin F on Nov 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It does move just a little bit (the base is very heavy), but you don't need to mount the base. You don't have to hold it down or anything...
The dimensions say 8 1/2 inches high but it looks taller and I would think it has to be taller to accommodate the wine bottles, so how tall is the whole opener? How big is the base? I want to be sure I have enough counter space for it. Thank you.
Maria W on Dec 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought this item in July 2016 and absolutely love it! The base is 12 inches deep by 7 inches wide. The measurement from the top of the base to the bottom of the opener is 13 inches. The entire opener is 23 inches tall and you need more space to swing the handle over. I have not had any problem fitting wine bottles in the opener.
Will your corkscrews work easily with composition corks?
Nancy W on Mar 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will. I have had no issues with the synthetic corks. Maybe a little "heavier in the handle" as far as pressure to insert the corkscrew, but nothing overly noticeable.
Have they fixed this model to last & not break after opening a few bottles?
Thomas W on Apr 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No they have not fixed it! We could not believe how fast it broke. We are very upset & we feel like we got ripped off!!! Thanks for asking.

It's great!
I love it. It makes opening wine bottles a breeze for those of us who are plagued by arthritic hands. It looks good standing on my bar too!

bottle opener
Absolutely love this! Especially to "recork" the wine. Will consider giving this as a gift for my winers.

Gave as a Gift
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the Corkscrew on the counter at the home of the people we gave this to. It was beautiful and they were very pleased with it. They said the quality of the product was very good. I was not sure what the quality of the product would be like since I had not every owned one but I took my chances since my husband and I have always had good items form Wine Enthusiast.

Love it!
Would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a show piece and a practical easy to use wine opener! Love the clean lines of the black marble base and the weight makes it a product I know will last for years to come ;)

Both work great!
After having one of these for over thirty years it finally broke. I bought two more. One for my wife at home and one for in our clubhouse. They work effortlessly, get lots of attention and have never opened a bad tasting bottle of wine. We like the ability to recork a bottle as easily as opening a bottle. For whatever reason, we very seldom have need to recork bottles. I would absolutely recommend this product. We like both our counter top stand and our floor stand.

We have owned one of these for years. We bought this one as a gift for our daughter. She absolutely loves it. It is very easy to use and looks great in her home.

It doesnt stand straight
The corkscrew sits at an angle because of the metal bracket that connects to the stand. Not what I would expect for the money I paid for it. Not happy.
