Q: How many BTU's does this unit produce? Does it have a thermostat? Does it use freon? Asked on 11/13/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Hello, It has 800 BTU's, it does have a thermostat, and it uses R134A coolant. Thank you Answered on 11/14/2011 by John from Wine Enthusiast
Q: what happens to the water in the drip pan? Asked on 9/30/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The grand cru 800 has 2 pans. 1 inside the unit & 1 under the unit. If too much condensation builds up in the unit the 2nd pan is for overflow and the water in the 2nd pan will burn off and disappate by the heat of the condensing coils. Answered on 10/3/2011 by Adam from Wine Enthusiast
Q: Can this unit me mounted in a case storage cubby? Does it require venting into a different room? Asked on 8/10/2011 by vacommish from GA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The Grand Cru 800 is meant to sit in a cabinet and vent to an adjacent space that is 80 degrees or less and at least 100 cubic feet. This particular unit cannot be ducted in any way. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us at 1-800-377-3330. Thanks Answered on 8/17/2011 by Darren from Wine Enthusiast
Q: I cannot find in the manual the amount of clearance needed to ventilate the unit. The in-cabinet installation does not show if the cabinet is cut out in the rear of the unit to allow the exhaust? I am putting this in a cabinet and need to know if I have to cut out a ventilation hole or is the unit fully contained in the cabinet? Asked on 8/6/2011 by loikaj from Escondido, CA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: You will need to install this in a properly prepared space with vapor barrier and insulation to spec. A cut out slightly bigger that the size of the unit will be needed. Venting should be into a temperate interior space equal if not larger that space you are cooling. There should be at least 4” distance away from the wall and clearance about and the sides for proper ventilation. Please feel free to call in and speak with one of our Cellar Specialist.
