The delivery was very prompt. Unfortunately, my son recently broke a glass while he was washing them; however, one phone call to Wine Enthusiast Customer Service, and the rep immediately said the company would be mailing him a replacement glass. I never thought the company would actually stand behind the 10-year warranty. I am VERY impressed, and my son is thrilled, as he loves these wine glasses. Thanks "Wine Enthusiast" for a wonderful product and fantastic customer service!
Overall they are nice, however, we thought these glasses would be a bit more durable than they really are. One broke with a small tap at the side of the sink. We then thought of taking advantage of the warranty and then read the notorious "fine print" and realized it was more hassle than its worth. Bottom line... we didn't buy what we thought we were buying and felt a bit misled with the "guarantee".
Nice glasses that seem to stand up to every day use. They would get 5 stars except that for the last 2 orders, packing for shipment has been pathetic and both orders arrived with 1 broken glass. WE promptly sent a replacement packaged so well you could drop it from a plane, but it's a bother to have to request a replacement. Warranty is worthless. Shipping a warranty replacement glass cost more than the glass itself.
First time we get decent glasses for red wine ... I'll tell you ... it makes a difference. A good wine tastes even better. This glasses are light and strong enough. I don't give it 5 stars just because I don't consider myself to know enough about wine glasses. One more thing. From the original 6+2, 2 came broken, sent and email to customer service twice and my email was ignored. I had to call, but then the replacements were sent immediately. I'm ok with calling but they should remove the customer service email if no one checks that inbox.
In 2 weeks of owning 3 are already broken: one in the dishwasher, two by gentle tips that wouldn't break my other stemware that isn't advertised as break-resistant. They are way too fragile. Do not buy if you are looking for a break-resistant or strong stem. The glass is very thin. I'm very disappointed in them. I bought 24, and at this rate I will be replacing the entire set in a couple months.
My daughter gave 8 of these glasses to us for Christmas. I only have 3 left not broken. Three had broken in the dishwasher so I started hand washing and 2 more broke in my hand trying to wash. One was setting on the table and all of a sudden exploded spilling red wine everywhere. I feel I must have gotten a bad bunch. [...] I do love the look and feel of the glasses but it is misleading to say that they are break resistant.
Our kitten managed to knock one over, and it shattered into literally a million tiny fragments. Once it shatters, it really shatters. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not "impact" or "heat" (so dishwasher damage is strictly speaking not covered either). The stem is too tall for the glass to fit in the top shelf of a regular dishwasher, and since impact/heat is not covered we don't clean them in the bottom shelf.
OKAY - LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS! If you know anything about wine, you know you want the right glass for the right varietal (and a quality one at that). This does NOT involve stemware that survives in the dishwasher!!!! People there isn't a glass I own that even gets near my dishwasher. If you really value your wine, get the right glass, and be willing to wash the darn thing! This is a beautiful, quality glass I use day-to-day and for entertaining. It shows off the varietal well -- not as breakable as some others (Riedel - which I love) but is seriously the best value/quality I've seen in long time. I'm far from being a wine "snob" - I'm just a gal who loves good wine and refuses to serve it in sub-optimal stemware that doesn't do the varietal justice. If you've any doubt, here's the test. Take a cab. Pour a couple of ounces in a white wine glass. Smell it...take a sip. Now pour that wine into a proper, bordeaux-style glass. Swirl, sniff, taste. I guarantee you'll see the difference. And no worthwhile glass out there can or should survive the dishwasher.
We have wine with our dinner every evening and wine is always served at our dinner parties. Many wineglasses of ours have broken due to delicateness of the glass and guests not always being aware of "where" their wineglass ends up. Many have broken due to just plain washing. These glasses are very attractive, large enough size for a cabernet and look great on a dinner table. They are not as "fine" of a glass as many of my wineglasses but that is the reason why I bought them. I was tired of replacing wineglasses that cost just too much $$ to keep replacing. These are perfect for what we were looking for!
Really like the glasses especially for the price. Unfortunately, one o the glasses broke while hand washing in Luke warm water on the first use. Customer service was great though and replaced the glass FOC. Hopefully the rest of the glasses show more durability. Just purchased the Pinot glasses and hope to have good luck with them as well. Cheers.
The glasses in the Fusion series are attractive. But has manufacturing quality declined? We seem to get more breakage in recent years. The stems don't seem as sturdy and the goblets themselves seem thinner.
I was lightly washing one of these glasses with a sponge and it broken in my hand. It did't hit the sink. I wasn't scrubbing it. Ironically, this is the most fragile glassware I've ever owned. It was a wedding gift, so we're going to store the glasses instead of using them, as to avoid more of them breaking. Too bad.
I'd been eying these for a while and with the deal of 8 for the price of 6 I bit. Just as I thought--didn't break when I tipped one over. Already broke one more of my old, thinner and Mg-free glasses. Glad I made the purchase and plan to buy more when I break the rest of my old glasses!
These look nice and are durable. I bought some Reidel glasses as well but I am a little apprehensive about using them because they are so thin. Those will be used for special occasions. These feel like a more solid glass and the look really nice too. These will be used all the time!
Very nice for special occasions and everyday use. My spouse is particularly tough on stemware... managed to break / crack three of them(not easy). Wine Enthusiast promptly and cheerfully replaced them at no cost(at their retail store).
I thought the glasses were wonderful. One of the glasses did not survive shipment and the stem broke off. However, I am being given another to replace it. I love how the glasses sound when you toast! I adds beauty to my kitchen.
We did not have larger "Cab" glasses for our table...so now that we have a stunning new house and a stunning dining room set, we felt like it was time to purchase these wine glasses. They look wonderful with our place settings! Also 8 glasses for the price of 6 was a great incentive!
These glasses are perfect for us. We recently went through a period of breaking wine glasses and so we were running low. The durable glass appealed to me. What is great about these glasses is that the glass is not thick but it is durable. They are excellent to drink from and easy to hold.
I live in FL and we entertain inside and out year round. For most wine, I don't mind using a Polycarbonate Wine glass, but for good wine, I want a large, thin bowl to let the nose develop and a long enough stem you don't smell your hands. These glasses are perfect in design with a decent weight, not to top heavy, broad base, clear glass and seem to hold up although we have yet to drop one onto tile or concrete, so far. The only problem is they are so tall, we can not load them in the top of the dishwasher.
A great, high quality wine glass. Feels solid in the hand yet not awkward or bulky. They are larger than your normal store-bought wine glass, so make sure they will fit in any cabinets you may want to store them in.
We've owned half a dozen styles of red wine glasses and these are our favorite. We frequently have friends over and always like to open a nice bottle, now we don't worry about breakage or the cleanup. With the replacement guarantee and dishwasher safe glasswear, we have found the perfect combo of class and function.
As much as I try to handle delicate wine glasses when washing, putting away or taking out, inevitably a glass breaks from time to time. The Fusion glasses are attractive and comparable to the best yet hold up against rough handling. And with the 10 year guarantee, they will serve their purpose a long time!
These are very nice wine glasses and I am pleased with the light weight of them. I did also buy the stem shine wine glass cleaning liquid and the microfiber drying towels which I highly recommend for hand washing them. My glasses alway look clear.
I have had my first set of these since they were introduced. I have a stunning collection of premium wine glasses that come out for the occasions. However, I am a wine enthuisast in the turest form and enjoy wine at any time. I find myself going to these constantly. Friends, family over, or even for a glass I just want for myself. They are balanced very well, can take a hit most times, and simply work. Still clear and no scratches after all these years. I bought these for gifts for friends since they work so well. Can't say enough about how these work in our busy lives. And a swirl when the lights are low is just perfect. Great glassware WE!!!!
