To answer the question directly.... I don't like my bottles touching (I'm sure there is a reason behind that somewhere) so I leave space beside the bottles.... I also don't stack the wine or have any larger sizes. My set up could hold 135 bottles easily (in my config) but I could see how it could fit 150-170.
Hope this helps
It is not front venting. However, if you intend to build it in it can be done.
Feel free to reach one of our Wine Cellar Specialists @ 1-800-356-8466 to further discuss.
27 1/4" Deep
This is not a front venting unit so if you intend to build it in it will require being elevated on a 3 inch platform to allow for airflow with an additional 4 inches on the top.
Yes, the presentation shelf option can be ordered separately. The item number is 2498017X. Please call one of our Wine Cellar Specialists @ 1-800-356-8466 if you have any further questions?
Trying to ascertain the weight of the unit (stated as 90Kg in the manual) without shelves.
1) Keep my wines at an even temperature
2) Keep my wines at a nice humidity (65%)
3) Not break down or malfunction since I plan to keep this for a while.
Every wine cooler meets the first condition, that's not hard to do.
Very few have humidity control and even fewer do it well. Too much or too little humidity and years of aging are destroyed. The method that EuroCave uses seems perfect and has been well reviewed in their older models proving they can stand the test of time.
The third reason is why I paid for the best. EuroCaves are very highly regarded and users who own their older models still claim to have no major issues with them. For a little bit more now, you truly can have perfectly aged wine in the future.
I was comparing this to a cheaper cooler, but played out in my head what would happen if I bought that cooler. A) I would have an extra cash to buy wine with now, which would be a lot of great wine to age. B) 8 years from now I would start to open that wine to find some of it bad, at which point I have saved nothing, and in fact lost 8 years of wine aging because I was trying to be cheep now. That to me would be VERY frustrating and was the reason that I not only went with EuroCave, but went with their flagship cooler.
Maybe the cheaper models will work fine for 15 years, but I'm not willing to risk 15 years of my life to find out, since I only plan to live it once.
It's hard to give a true review of a product like this, since I won't know if it worked for several more years, but what I do know is it looks amazing, the controls are very easy to use and the display provides all the data points I'd need. Setup was also easy.
Lastly, the folks at Wine Enthusiast have been more than helpful. Marshal was very knowledgeable about all the coolers, and I never felt pressure from him to go with the Revelation. I'd done weeks of looking before I reached out to him, and he still provided great insight to help me hone in on the right cooler.
19 years later we are in the market (we still have our original) to add 2 new units to our media room. Why would I ever think of purchasing anything other than Eurocave. I recently had a bottle of wine from 1995 that I stored in my original Eurocave (it was a surprise find) and OH MY GOD was this unit ever worth it's price - the wine was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We purchase cases now and why would I ever put these fine wines in anything but the best?
We look forward to receiving the new units by the end of June.
This model is great looking. We purchased it with the black shelves and it is sleek and simple.
So far the temp has been very consistent, however, the humidity does fluctuate. It has never swung into an unacceptable range...usually 62 to 72%, with most of the time being right at 70%. Not sure if it supposed to do that, but I would think that you would have to expect some fluctuation based on compressor running or not, temperature in the house, etc.
The other thing I really love about it is how quiet it is. It is in my husband's home office and we never hear it unless we are actually in that room and even then, it is quiet.
We are very pleased with the purchase and expect it to last for years but if for some reason, that changes, I will update this review!!

The Revelation was delivered a month ago, 1 week early, and this was my first purchase of a serious wine storage apparatus. I'll admit, I was leery about a spend of $5K on wine storage.
White glove delivery was seamless, quick, the trash was gone and so are my concerns about cheesiness. It's classy, handsome and a topic of discussion during party's. I give it a 10. I highly recommend it and couldn't happier. I'm "cellaring" about 125 bottles and have 50-60 selections that are prime. The lighting is very cool, the soft close adjustable shelves are slick, the controls are advanced and the unit is quite. Get one. You won't be disappointed.

Key factor being: it is very quiet, has an elegant look & conforms to what you need to hold 150 bottles, including magnums
