While the typical Pinot Bottle is 3 and 1/8 inches in diameter, some of the pinots in my collection have larger bottles with diameters up to 3.5 inches. Will these bottles allow the shelves to pull out freely with out scraping the shelf above or would i need to remove a shelf to accomadate these larger bottles? thanks
BEST ANSWER:I have a lot of large Napa Cabernet bottles in which I had to remove a shelf and adjust the heights on many shelves so I would imagine you would too on any wine cellar you purchase to accommodate the Pinot bottles. The bottom area is open where you could possibly put these bigger rounder bottles to maximize your space. All the shelves are adjustable so you don't have them too crowded to scape the labels and for ease of pulling them out. If you're between the M size and the next bigger one, go for the bigger one. I'm out of space already... Hope this helped.

As shipped, the shelf spacing will fit typical bottles an a little larger. I have some larger diameter bottles that fit fine. However, the shelf spacing is configurable at about 1.5" adjustments (from memory). So, you can set up one or two shelves to be able to accommodate larger bottles. I have everything from 1/2 bottles to magnums. The most irritating bottles to accommodate are not the wide one but the long ones! Bottom line is that you can make the shelves work for pretty much any size bottle.
I have not had any issues with any Pinot Bottle, but am not sure of the exact diameter. The unit is fabulous, and the humidity control is a big plus showing both the temperature and humidity is very important and easy to monitor. It is going on a full year and working great. It is full, and I could use a second, but need to save a few pennies first as I will not buy a cheaper unit after having this one.
The shelves are adjustable, so you can just increase the width between two shelves to accommodate larger bottles. As long as it is only 1-2 shelves that you do this to, there should still be enough room for all the shelves. Plus there is room on the bottom for stacking larger bottles. There is a lot of flexibility with the fridge.
Danny, I have run into the same thing with my big bottles of Pinot. I have to occasionally slightly lift the above shelf and then the shelf below pulls out fine. You could remove a shelf or put the larger bottles down below like the picture. Hate to sacrifice shelf space! Hope this helps. Larry
Some of my larger pinot bottles do graze the bottom of the shelf above - but not to the point where I have had to move the shelf. And, the larger bottles do not fit the sculpted cradles on the shelf, reducing the number of bottles that the shelf will hold.
Hi Danny: I measured my donum estate Pinot is about 3.5 inch in diameter and it has plenty of space to spare. Those bigger california cab bottles that are wider in the middle is what u need to worry about. Hope it helps, Cyrus
Hello Danny, While i do think your bottles will fit you may need to remove a shelf to be absolutely sure. Feel free to give on of our Wine Cellar Specialists a call @ 1-800-356-8466 to discuss.
Is this unit a built-in type or freestanding unit ?

BEST ANSWER:This is a free standing unit but it can be built in if you build it on a platform 3 inches off the ground that is open at the bottom to allow air to get through, leave 3 inches behind the unit and 4 inches above the unit.

BEST ANSWER:There is a tray of lava rock at the bottom of the fridge; soaked rock gives a nice 60-70% humidity. If it drops lower, just add a little water (in my experience, this has to be done very infrequently--I've only done it once in nearly a year--but it probably depends on the ambient humidity).

We have a one-temperature Model M in a garage with has a temperature range of 40-80F. We followed the directions in the manual to immerse the humidity cartridge in water. The humidity cartridge is then placed on the lower rack. When we first started the Model M, we added more water to the temperature cartridge to increase the relative humidity high enough, but then we noticed the relative humidity does fluctuate with the garage temperature. Now we just monitor that the relative humidity is in desired range 60-75%, which it is. So we don't really control the relative humidity any tighter than that. The relative humidity display is easy to see through the glass door. The Model M also has a flashing warning if the relative humidity falls below 50% for over 72 hours
No idea. I suppose it might be possible, but I do not view humidity as an issue, only temperature. I'm generally pleased with the fridge, though some wider bottles are a squeeze to fit in.
The unit registers the humidity level on the main control panel. If necessary, there is a tray of porous stones you soak with water and set in the bottom of the unit to add humidity.
When it fell too low, below 50%, I simply soaked the bottom tray that is filled with little rocks for a couple of hours, and put it back in the bottom of my wine cooler.
When our eurocave was delivered and set up, it appeared to be leaning to the back. The delivery person said it is supposed to do that. It does not rock or anything like that but noticeably leans to the back. Does this seem correct?
BEST ANSWER:Our Eurocave is dead level. A rearward leaning unit would tend to make the door close rather than stay in a neutral position when accessing the contents. Adjusting the front leveling feet may help the situation.

BEST ANSWER:This is a back vent unit. If you want to build this into cabinetry you will need to leave 3 inches below the cabinet by building on a platform that is open , 3 inches behind and 3-4 inches above.

BEST ANSWER:This cellar will hold 141 bottles based on bordeaux size bottles. The bottle capacity will decrease based on using larger bottles that take more space.

Will any of the EuroCave models heat? Or do they only cool? I would put a unit in my garage.

So far my cave has been exactly like we thought...A perfect gem to keep, age and store our wines. I am having a little trouble getting the humidity set right which may be on me. Otherwise, it looks great and runs very quietly.
The Eurocave Is attractive and maintains a consistent temperature. The only downside is that you need to leave an open space in the middle from top to bottom to maintain the desired humidity. Overall, I would recommend the unit.
It was the perfect size. I was thnkiing of going with one of those half size units, but even though the original space did not work, once the new unit was in place, all the wine that I had hidden all over the house, filled my new cooler minus one case. On that rack, I now keep a case of Pellegrino. The organization of wine Is so logical now. Each shelf is a different grape, and as the seasons change, I am certain the quantities of certain varietals will also fluctuate. Have fun with it. Not too big, not too small... just right!
After one month, we just love our Eurocave Pure M wine cooler. For our current collection it is the right size and if I expand, we will simply purchase a second unit.
The white glove shipping was fantastic as the shippers unloaded, removed all packaging material (took it with them) and placed the unit exactly where we wanted it. The set up and loading of the Pure is straight forward and we are extemely pleased with our purchase. The temperature and humidity are running right where the settings dictate.
The Eurocave Pure M is well worth the price as the quality and function are fantastic. We are simply delighted.
Bought the Pure M since I needed to store over 100 bottles of all shapes and sizes and they all fit! A nice looking unit and very quiet. I have only had it for approx. 2 weeks so I can't give a detailed review, but overall it seems like a great purchase at this time. Folks at Wine Enthusiast are great to work with as well.
We have not had it very long but we do like the medium size and the glass Door makes a huge difference, much more attractive than my old large black refrigerator like cabinet. The old cabinet went to a private club still going strong after 17 years! We hope to have our new cabinet as long and it looks so nice in our new space. The lighted temp and humidity read outs are helpful as well.
This unit is the perfect size for us. It was definitely a step up from our Sub-Zero 26-bottle fridge, in every sense of the word. After researching and reading all the positive reviews for EuroCave we are so happy we chose this one. Runs super quiet and keeps wine at the perfect temperature and humidity levels. Great purchase, cannot recommend highly enough!!!
