Specifically designed for the Coravin System, each pressurized Coravin Capsule contains argon, a naturally occurring inert gas that winemakers have been using for years to protect their fine wines. The proprietary seal ensures that even weeks or months after initial use, the Coravin System is ready to use and not out of gas due to leakage.

Does anyone know is these canisters can transported overseas in a suitcase via airline?
Cookie on Dec 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The capsules can only be shipped via ground.
Can the capsules be refilled? If not, how are they properly disposed?
Chris on Apr 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The capsules cannot be refilled, and can be tossed in the trash because when you are done with them they will not be filled with gas.
I'm wondering how many pours from a bottle do you get per single A65 Argon capsule for the Coravin machinge?
Matt on Apr 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 15 - 5oz pours on each capsule
Can you bring a Coravin device containing an open canister in an airplane (From Canada to Europe) or is their a risk that it the device might get damaged?
Gabriel on Sep 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would highly recommend wrapping the coravin unit and not shipping it with the argon canister attached for pressure reasons. Other than, you should be fine. Just remember to put it in your suitcase and not your carry on.

It was what was needed
I'm really surprised that Coravin or Wine Enthusiast doesn't offer a recycle program for the used canisters. It would be great it they would give you a 2-pack for say, 10 canisters returned. I have a ton of empty canisters and I don't think they can be recycled (although I'll try).

not all it's cracked up to be
I saw this in a restuarant and thought it a great idea. I like having a couple of bottles open. My wife doesn't particularly like white, while I enjoy a glass while I'm cooking and then joining her on the red with our meal. Seems simple enough.

However, and maybe I just am not mechanical enough, but it doesn't really pour so much as drips the wine out. Also, gas cartridge won't hold its charge overnight. And they scare the daylights out of you with warnings that the bottle might explode.
