Is this freestanding, or does it anchor to the wall to prevent possible tip over?
Dave F on Aug 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If I remember correctly it can be anchored to the wall. Mine is freestanding, and I've had no issues with it tipping. Of course I fill it from the bottom up for optimal weight distribution.
How can you purchase the letters separately? We bought this jail for Christmas and now want to personalize it. Please advise.
Jennifer on Feb 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I did not personalize my 2 jail wine racks but was told by the sales person to call if I ever change my mind
What does it weigh?
Gary on Jan 7, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. The 96 Botlle Steel Wine Jail weighs 76 lbs. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 800 356 8466. Thank you again.
Do the larger-style wine bottles, i.e., chardonnay, sparkling, fit into the circular segments?
DCK on Aug 28, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The 96 bottle Wine Jail will accommodate burgundy sized bottles(Chardonnay). I did try a few Prosecco's and they did fit but I would caution that with some Sparklings, a larger bottle may not fit. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call one our consultants at 800 377 3330. Thank you again.
in putting the door on does the wide part of the bottle fit in the back and the front of the bottle sit close to the door? so there is space in the back but the front of the bottle will be near the door?
viv on Dec 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes the wide part of the bottle will sit in the back and the front of the bottle will sit close to the door. There will be space from the front of the bottle to the door.

Locked in but not securely.
The Wine Jail is a very attractive design, is very well buildt, and was easy to assemble. However, only two of the six columns have a metal strap in the door that can limit forward movement of bottles in the event of a earth tremor/quake. Bottles with shoulders rest fairly securely, however tapered bottles slide forward easily and can slide out of the rear support and fall. Any bottle can fall between the two supports if it slips out of your hand during placement.

We love the unit's looks and design but are still working on a mod to secure our bottles.

I would recommend this to a friend, but only with a caveat.

Great Product
This rack is easy to assemble as long as you follow the instructions. Specifically, bolts have to be very, very loose (just on enough to hold things together) until everything is assembled and then you can tighten them down. Unboxing and assembly took about 1.5 hrs.

Outstanding product that gets tons of compliments, especially when full of wine. Incredibly easy to put together, as I did it alone in one hour, by just following the directions.

Very easy to assemble, very nice
Very easy to assemble, less than 1 hour. Solid and attractive. Could stand to be 4-6" deeper so wine bottle necks do not poke through door. Otherwise, we really like it and will use it for many years to come.

Works really well!
It looks good and is reasonably sized to fit into the dining room (where I have it), kitchen or cellar!

Great Product
You would think that paying $75 for shipping would mean that UPS would take extra care when moving this large box around......NOT.

UPS beat the box up pretty bad and even put a large cut in the bux.

The good news is there was very little damage to the wine rack itself.

There was a couple of metal pieces that I had to gently straighten out.

pictured display a bit misleading
EZ enough to assemble - it took two of us an hour to put together.Restaurant owner with limited space for wine storage. This product fit a specific area perfectly. Two problems we had - 1)we felt we had to anchor it to the wall for security and 2) according to the pictured advertisement, the bottles are facing toward the front with labels displayed making it an attractive display. However, the bottle tops hit the door, do not fit properly, and door doesn't shut. The bottles have to be turned around with the bottoms facing the front.

Beautiful but poor customer service
The product arrived timely but it was missing a piece of scrollwork in the dead center of the door. I contacted customer service via email and never received a response. I love the product but I'm very displeased with the lack of customer service.
