I had an antique armoire that I wanted to convert to a wine cellar inexpensively. This fit the bill! Also the mahogany gave it a rich look. I stacked two of them with less than six feet of height for storage of 72 bottles and more on top, bottom, and sides. I am very pleased. I would not use it as a standalone unit however.

My only complaint is the same as others: instructions were unclear and misleading. Worse, it said that starter holes were pre-drilled. THEY WERE NOT! This made assembly difficult, frustrating and fortunately I did not split the wood...no thanks to the manufacturer...just lucky!

It is a shame that what should have been a very simple product to assemble was made so difficult by a lack of inspection of the product. Very sad.

The directions will not work. You should not screw into the top shelf of the rack as the wood splits. Yet you also can't screw from the underside because you have already installed the middle shelves. So step 2 if you "secure .. at topside of brackets" the wood splits.
I would suggest doing step 2 first but look at step 3 diagram and do it like that so the wood does not split.

I also think this is a bit over priced for what you get. Poor finish that is very hard to dust.

Vacuum pieces after opening(packing matl stuck to wood).Open screw holes in 2 leg assemblies with 5/32nd DRILL, long bit if you have one. Drill starter holes at marks in bottom and top shelves.Place TOP shelf on shipping box and assemble side rails with a STUBBY screw driver.Turn unit over(upside down)and install BOTTOM shelf,drill gun will do. Turn right side up and install shelves from the bottom up. May be a little tight but adj horizontally slightly and they fit. May need a RUBBER MALLET/CLOTH WRAPPED SIDE OF HAMMER to push down on pegs. YOUR DONE!!! I put 3 together, 20 minutes each. Stacking and side plates another 20 min. Use 4 USP #NP15 (1 3/4 x 5" metal plates w HOLES)from[@] lumber dept area.DON'T SKIMP-USE 4.Use 4 or 6 PAN PHILLIPS #8 X 1/2" screws for ea plate. NOW JUST FILL UP THE SHELVES!!! 1.5 ltr bottles can fit snug on the ends but I've never had one that didn't fit at all. Bought another 3 10 yrs ago and my EX still has them in the library.I make my own wine so extra storage is always needed.

I purchased this wine rack to temporarily house some bottles while saving up for a kitchen renovation that will have built-in racks. The dark wood is nice, and the fact that it stands off the floor, so good air flow & no dust collects underneath. It holds a nice number of bottles, but some of the longer/oddly shaped bottles sit precariously on the cross bars, which are somewhat flimsy. The price is very affordable compared to other wood racks of similar design.

This was a little difficult to assemble. The directions could be revised to attach the upper and lower shelves first with screws, and then insert the middle shelves. I followed the directions, and the middle shelves fell out when I turned the rack over to attach the lower shelf.

Very attractive design, although the directions and the actual engineering leaves a lot to be desired. The connectors weren't always perfect, so I had to scrape around the edges of some to make the shelves fit - plus they fall out easily when you're trying to install the top and bottom of the frame. But once you get it all into place it's really a nice wine rack.
